Dr. Nanavati is a specialist in all aspects of digestive disease, particularly pancreaticobiliary endoscopy. Dr. Nanavati has special interest in advanced endoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic sphincterotomy, cholangioscopy, capsule endoscopy, pH Bravo capsules for acid reflux, diagnostic colonoscopy and colon cancer screening, upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding, swallowing disorders, reflux disorders, GI motility disorders, Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, Hepatitis, Cirrhosis, cancer of the liver, pre-transplant evaluation for chronic liver disease, diverticulitis and diverticulosis, treatment of internal and external hemorrhoids, obscure GI bleeding, colon polyps. He also performs diagnostic endoscopic ultrasound.
An honors graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Nanavati continued his studies at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont, receiving his medical degree in 1998. He completed his internship and residency in the Department of Medicine at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Baltimore. In 2001, Dr. Nanavati joined the fellowship program at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He was subsequently appointed as faculty at Baylor and remained at the program. Dr. Nanavati has since trained further in endoscopic ultrasound at the University of Montreal.
